Accidental Child Shootings and Gun Safety

A 4-year-old boy fatally shot himself in the head over the weekend, prompting ABC2 In Focus to take a look at accidental child shootings and gun safety.

According to gun control advocacy group Everytown , there were about 265 accidental child shootings in the U.S. in 2015  83 of those were deadly.

Maryland has child access prevention laws when it comes to firearms. Any gun owner is required lock up their firearms around children under the age of 16.
